The veterinary technician is an integral member of the veterinary health care team who has or is being educated in the care and handling of animals, the basic principles of normal and abnormal life processes, and in routine laboratory and clinical procedures. Veterinary technicians perform many of the same tasks for a veterinarian that nurses and other professionals perform for physicians. A veterinary technician's job is to assist veterinarians, help improve quality of care given at this hospital, and improve the doctor's efficiency by relieving them of technical work and administrative detail.
